Los Angeles gents have scored another stylish option for sharp suiting and more sans the fuss of all-day shopping. Joining our city's menswear scene is online-bred brand Knot Standard, which has opened its first LA showroom in West Hollywood.
Located on La Cienega Boulevard just around the corner from Melrose Place, the high-tech, New York-based bespoke menswear company's awards season-ready space offers the same fitting experience as its online platform, but IRL. The brand is known for its custom suits and tuxedos ($845 to $2,995 and up), which are made of luxe fabrics sourced from high-end Italian and English mills and can be personalized down to every last detail, from the blazer's breast style, pockets, lapel, cuff buttons, shoulders, lining, and embroidery thread to the pants' pleating, belt loops, pocket style, and more.
Also on offer are casual and formal wardrobe essentials, with button-downs and trousers starting at $395, sweaters and hoodies starting at $295, and utilitarian-inspired outerwear (including peacoats, trenches, overcoats, and rain jackets) starting at $895, all of which can be customized.
Although expert style advisors are on hand to guide you through the customization and wardrobe building process, don't expect to walk out with a sleek double-breasted number: There's no inventory stocked at the "shop," but that means your garments will be mailed directly to your doorstep in about four to six weeks. (Which means you won't have to worry about keeping them wrinkle-free on that Uber ride home.)
