The City of Angels is becoming quite the wonderland for cannabis connoisseurs. The latest to join L.A.'s leafy retail scene is Stiiizy, which debuted its massive flagship on the outskirts of the Arts District on August 24, drawing a crowd of Mary Jane enthusiasts to line up as early as the night before. (A San Francisco outpost is slated to arrive this weekend, too; it's all part of the fast-growing brand's plan to open several other locations in California this year.)

Before stepping into the 6,500-square-foot dispensary and art gallery, 21-and-up guests enter through a kaleidoscopic tunnel with LED lights and projection mapping. Once inside, shoppers are greeted by a 29-foot mural by L.A.-based artist Retna and four separate retail pods stocked with goods from over 55 cannabis brands alongside Stiiizy, including Papa & Barkley and Lowell Herb Co., to name just a few. On offer are the Cali-bred company's just-launched Liiit flower and Biiit gummies alongside the its full collection of vaporizers ($20 and up, and which can be custom-engraved on site), oil pods, edibles, and pre-rolls.

Of course, the shop also stocks accessories such as grinders, rolling trays, papers, glass pipes, lighters, and more marijuana accoutrements. Also on the racks are limited-edition streetwear and accessories, such as logo-happy tank tops, tees, long-sleeved shirts, hats, jackets, slides, and enamel pins, among other merch ($25 to $70).

Co-founded in 2017 by U.S. Army veteran-turned-vaporizer industry insider James Kim and real estate/investment entrepreneur Brian Mitchell, the brand combined skater slang (a portmanteau of "style and ease") with its mantra of innovation, inspiration, and influence (hence the three I's) for its name. It's part of the duo's cannabis distribution, cultivation, and manufacturing company, Shryne Group, which is also responsible for brands like Honeyleaf and Efex vape pens, to name a few.

In a release, Kim (who's also Shryne's managing director) explains: "I wanted to create a true immersive experience unlike any other for our customers. [Stiiizy] is deeply embedded in cannabis culture and this store is a true reflection of our 'Influence, Inspire, Innovate' message. This is what experiential retail is all about. This is not just a store, it is a destination."

Mitchell adds: "California is the largest, most mature legal cannabis market in the world. [The Golden State] is a global trendsetter and we have an opportunity with cannabis to set the standards that the rest of the world will follow. This store is a great example of that."
