A Ukrainian Beauty Bar Chain Is Bringing Affordable & Stylish Self-Care to Robertson

A foreign invasion we can get behind.

Politics aside, here's a foreign intervention that we actually welcome — well, at least when it comes to our city's beauty scene. The latest international transplant to plant a pretty flag in L.A. is "fucking amazing" Ukraine-bred beauty studio G.Bar, which is opening its first West Coast beauty spot (and second Stateside shop) on Robertson Boulevard, just a few doors away from Parisian-Cali blowout bar Kova.

The beauty bar chain is taking over the storefront previously home to longtime Robertson resident Vince (which shuttered within the last year) next door to MedMen. Known for its pastel-powered photogenic interiors and affordable beauty services, G.Bar opened its first U.S. outpost last year in Miami; before closing for "reloading," it offered manicures for $23 and up, pedicures and makeup services starting at $45, and blowouts starting at $57. Expect the L.A. menu and pricing to be more or less the same, plus brow and lash treatments.

Founded in 2015 by Ukrainian entrepreneurs Sabina Musina and Lera Borodina, G.Bar currently has over 25 locations (including franchises) across the world, including in Dubai, Poland, Moscow, Kiev, St. Petersburg, and other cities in Europe and the Middle East.

Stay tuned for more on the opening date, and get a taste of what to expect and peep a few renderings from the beauty studio's L.A. architectural design and planning firm below.
