Dyson's First L.A. Demo Store Offers Vacuums, Air Purifiers, & Free Blowouts

Vacuum stores aren't exactly a prime example of thrilling retail therapy, unless it's Dyson. The tech company known for its design-minded home appliances is now making it easier for germaphobes and beauty buffs to clean up nicely at its first-ever L.A. Demo store, which officially opened at Westfield Century City yesterday.

Located on level one, the space showcases the brand's full collection vacuum cleaners, air purifiers and fans, eye-friendly lighting (which mimics local daylight), and stylish hair tools, including its latest products like the Pure Hot+Cool Cryptomic purifier ($650 and up), which rids the air of formaldehyde, particulate matter, and gases; and the smart cord-free V11 cleaner ($600 and up), which detects the floor type and adjusts its power accordingly. Everything is illuminated with Dyson's energy-efficient Cu-Beam suspended lights, while three different floor types will give shoppers a testing ground for cleaning products.

The new shop isn't just a high-tech playground for the U.K.-based brand's sleek goods — it's also home to Dyson's first in-store pro blowout bar, which features five styling stations and two wash basins. The beauty area's pro hairstylists will offer complimentary services using the brand's people-pleasing Supersonic hair dryer ($399 and up) and new Airwrap styler ($549), which are engineered to prevent extreme heat damage on tresses.

The store also offers free initial embossing on Dyson hair tools and cases with purchase, and there'll also be a regular schedule of events on wellness, health, and hairstyling.
