What do raising tiny humans and building a career have in common? Both can be rewarding as they are challenging — and as any L.A. parent knows, striking the "perfect" work-life balance is as fickle as a toddler's tastebuds. Now, moms and dads in the Westside and beyond have scored another stress-free option for getting both jobs done at Brella, which debuted last November at Playa Vista lifestyle development The Runway.

Offering fully-licensed childcare for kids ages 3 months to 6 years alongside private work desks and conference rooms, the 8,000-square-foot space houses a creative playroom, indoor playground, art lab, library, and garden. All staff members go through a rigorous background check, and Brella will handle everything for you while your little ones are there, from naptimes and mealtimes to fun educational activities led by early childhood experts to ensure tiny minds are never bored. The curriculum was designed to change every hour so that every kid gets a well-rounded learning experience at Brella, whether they're there for one hour or the entire day.

Parents will find the schedule convenient, too. Desks and conference rooms can be booked weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and during weekends between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Childcare is available Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The space will also host a regular schedule of events for kids and parents, including community classes, family yoga, professional career coaching, and more.

Drop-in services are $25 per hour for childcare and $8 per hour for private work stations. Discounted monthly packages are also available for $235 to $1700 (10 to 80 childcare hours per month) and hours can be booked as far as 60 days in advance. Even better: Everything's scheduled via Brella's app, which is available for both OS and Android users.

The full-service space was co-founded by advertising and marketing exec Melanie Wolff (who's worked with Amazon, Bravo, and Johnson & Johnson) and architect Darien Williams (who co-designed the space with Rectangle Design Studio and Project M Plus). Inspired by their own experiences with not-so-flexible daycares, the working L.A. moms were inspired to create Brella to help serve other parents seeking options beyond the standard 9-to-5 schedule. The goal is to open more Brella outposts throughout the City of Angels; eventually, the company will roll out locations across the U.S.
