A Millennial-Founded Mini Mart Is Popping Up with Cool Natural Brands in Venice

Pop Up Grocer will holding court just off the boardwalk through March.

We know what you're thinking: A health foods market is coming to Venice? Groundbreaking! In all seriousness, the wellness-focused coastal commune will soon welcome a cool concept pop-up that's a Millennial spin on the tried-and-true minimart: Enter Pop Up Grocer, a design-driven traveling shop that's bringing some of the most innovative natural brands just steps away from the Venice boardwalk.

Founded by Brooklyn-based brand consultant Emily Schildt, the modern retailer will hold court starting this Friday, Feb. 7 through Sunday, March 1 on Windward Avenue. Pop Up Grocer previously popped up twice in New York last year and now has its own corner at cool NYC department shop Neighborhood Goods.

Expect to find food, home goods, body products, and pet care from over 150 brands, including clean EVOO by Brightland, surrealist snacks by Dada, chic shaving kits by Flamingo, high protein cereal by Magic Spoon, drinks by Avocadomilk, vitamins by Gem, and booze-free cocktails by Curious Elixirs, superfood bites by Lil Bucks, and much, much more.

The very 'grammable space will be rounded out by eye-popping florals by botanical artist Sophie Parker and custom lighting by Joseph Algieri, while West Adams' own Highly Likely café will also be in the house offering baked goods and cold brew. In addition, Pop Up Grocer will host free After Hours events during its L.A. stay, including a grand opening soirée this Friday, a discussion on motherhood and entrepreneurship on Feb. 10, an ice cream social with vegan treats on Feb. 15, and more happenings; see the full schedule here.

Pop-Up Grocer, 62 Windward Ave., Venice, 90291; Friday, Feb. 7 to Sunday, March 1 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
