Coachella and Stagecoach may be a no-go next month, which makes spring and summer an opportune time to keep calm with a desert getaway — one that doesn't involve thousands of festgoers. If that sounds like your jam, then add new Palm Springs destination Les Cactus to your next vacation-planning radar.

Formerly the clothing-optional motel The Terra Cotta, the 27-room property in Palm Springs' Warm Sands neighborhood debuted its Millennial-minded makeover in mid-February. Los Angeles-based owner and designer Matthew Kurtz teamed with Palms Springs hotelier duo Richard Crisman and Jeff Brock (who are also behind Sparrows Lodge and Holiday House) to transform the 1930s-built hotel into a 'grammable and affordable retreat, giving it fresh coats of vibrant pink and green paint on the outside and bright white on the inside.

The design team also upgraded the low-key resort with plenty of potted cacti throughout the outdoor areas, while the rooms are decked out with vintage and contemporary furnishings and decor sourced from 1st Dibs, Gucci Garden, Serena & Lily, CB2, West Elm, Hay, and other fashionable retailers. They also spruced up the property with a heated pool and hot tub, a hammock garden, a rooftop deck, massage room, and an outdoor fire pit.

The chic, pet-friendly hotel serves guests over 21 and their canines, and rooms start are $189 per night. Options include one-bedroom suites and studios (including some with kitchenettes) and bungalow-style rooms — all outfitted with Casper mattresses and 100% Egyptian cotton sheets, while the charming vintage bathrooms are stocked with products by L.A.-based brand Further.

Created with home comforts in mind, Les Cactus' communal areas feature a ready-to-play piano and an acoustic guitar, while the kitchen is fully stocked with snacks and sips such as fresh-squeezed juice, croissants, and crepes. Beer and wine are also available for purchase. Other amenities include continental breakfast and bicycles available to borrow. Of course, there's a gift shop that stocks organic body oils and mists, ceramics, candles, and mini cacti.
