Until all in-store retail can safely reopen, window shopping will have to suffice at West Hollywood's La Cienega Design Quarter. The cool corridor's star-beloved home furnishings showrooms and decor boutiques would have been abuzz with inspiring panels, book signings, and creativity-filled soirées this week thanks to its annual Legends festival — but rather than cancel the beloved event due to the pandemic, LCDQ is bringing the pro-powered decor inspiration directly into our homes with its first-ever virtual summit.
Happening from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, May 21, #LCDQStrong promises a full schedule of panels, interviews, and more programming featuring superstars in architecture, art, and design, allowing attendees to get an insider's glimpse into the design world.
Sessions include a conversation led by 1stdibs editorial director Anthony Barzilay Freund between L.A.-based interior designers Martyn Lawrence Bullard (whose clients include the Kardashian-Jenners, Cher, Tommy Hilfiger, and others) and Sarah Shetter; a magazine editors roundtable led by designer/author David Netto with the EICs of Elle Decor, House Beautiful, and Veranda; and a chat with architect Scott Mitchell and pop artist Ross Bleckner moderated by Galerie magazine editor Jacqueline Terrebonne; to name a few.
Sponsored by 1stdibs and The Shade Store with additional funding from Benjamin Moore, the one-day fest will also include design inspiration for every room in the house as well as advice on keeping abodes "cool, calm, and collected" during quarantine.
