If your quarantine time has been focused on upgrading all of the makeover-ready corners of your abode, then you'll want to pay a visit to HD Buttercup. The stylish home furnishings retailer's epic Half-Yearly Sale is underway right this minute, but that's not all — the brand has confirmed that it's shuttering several of its locations, meaning there are (sadly) even deeper in-store discounts.
The bi-annual blowout is happening at all of HD Buttercup's stores, including its flagship at Culver City's Helms Bakery District and locations in the DTLA Arts District (which opened in 2015) and Orange County. Expect up to 75% off the retailer's inventory of contemporary-cool and vintage furniture and decor, including sofas, dining tables and chairs, coffee and side tables, cabinets, sideboards, lighting, throws, decor, and more.
The retailer announced March 19 via an email blast that it would temporarily shutter all of its brick-and-mortar locations in response to the coronavirus. An email newsletter in late May revealed that the brand's OC Outlet in Costa Mesa was offering 40 to 70% off as part of its liquidation sale, and store closing sales for the retailer's San Francisco and DTLA locations have been underway since June and early July, respectively.
For now, it seems that the doors to HD Buttercup's Culver City flagship will remain open. Update 7/13: The brand has confirmed its DTLA, OC, and SF store shutterings but closing dates have not yet been set. We've reached out to the brand for more details; stay tuned for updates.
