Although the opening of House of Novogratz's Venice storefront-meets-showroom marks designers Robert and Cortney Novogratz's very first outpost, you're more than likely familiar with their work. For one thing, the husband and wife team (and their brood of seven kids) have been the focus of not one, but two TV shows (Bravo's 9 By Design and HGTV's Home By Novogratz), and their reputation for mixing high and low styles for clients ultimately led to their own highly successful, eponymous home line.

As of April 10th, the brand is poised to gain even more of a following. Taking over the over 2,000-square-foot bungalow on Abbot Kinney Boulevard that was most recently home to The Piece Collective, the Novogratz (as the duo is collectively known) have created a hub for their brand that functions as a retail space as well as a location for future events like digital media activations and product launches.

The Novogratz have filled six rooms with their eclectic and affordable decor — think eyeball rugs, locker-inspired tables and cabinets, and kiss-print wallpaper. Shoppers should also keep their eyes peeled for future collaborations in the store. The designers have already had successful partnerships with Target, Tempaper, and even SJP — and there are more on the horizon.

"House of Novogratz is a dream project for us," the design duo says. "[The store is] a public space to host our friends, family, and collaborators; a place where we can share new products, as well as feature designers, artists, and performers of all kinds."

And speaking of new products, the recent store opening also coincided with the launch of The Novogratz's 2021 Spring Collection, which is filled with outdoor-friendly pieces like The Paulette Outdoor Table + Bench Set and Nora Pub Set, that are perfect for updating that patio — even if you're on a budget.

The store's immersive nature can be largely attributed to the brand's president, John Frierson, a Fred Segal vet who opened the legendary retailer's relocated Sunset Boulevard flagship. And unsurprisingly, his collaborative effort on a Novogratz-focused pop-up was one the space's most successful. With such a retail giant in partnership with the cool, contemporary, and budget-friendly (think rugs starting around $30 and sectionals under $700) decor line, this new Venice space is likely to become a go-to for anyone in the market to spruce up their adobe with a welcome splash of color and quirk.
