Duer's Second Brick-and-Mortar Set to Open Early September

The Vancouver-based label will be stationed in L.A.'s District La Brea.

Performance apparel brand Duer recently announced its plans to open its second brick-and-mortar location in the U.S. Situated alongside other retailers such as Arc'teryx, Fjällräven, American Rag Cie, Carhartt WIP, Champion, Stüssy, and Union, Duer will be debuting its performance attire fit for the Cali lifestyle in the iconic retail neighborhood District La Brea.

Duer, whose first U.S. location opened in Denver in 2020, is one brand of several that has ventured out of Vancouver, Canada due to global success, following in the footsteps of others like Lululemon and Arc'teryx. The brand's unique approach to technical clothing stems from its rather humble beginnings of jeanswear. It slowly but surely transitioned the fabrics to natural and sustainable materials, and then integrated its now-famous performance element with athleisure features and strength. Today, the brand is known for comfort, performance, and durability.

"Opening a dedicated storefront in Los Angeles has always been the plan, it was just a matter of when. For a few reasons, the most significant being our e-commerce and wholesale businesses showcasing a built-in fan base and demand in the LA area, our greatest opportunity for growth in this region is now," said co-founder Gary Lenett.

In keeping with the brand's long history of experimenting and pushing the boundaries of sustainable fashion, the 1850-square-foot space will fuse experiential and sensory aspects that point to Duer's natural and sustainable materials such as plants, trees, wood chips, and recycled plastic bottles. These four elements alone actually comprise roughly 95% of the label's clothing.

"Side by side with leading jean and performance wear brands on La Brea Ave is the best-case scenario for our foray into LA. Product versatility, as it relates to moving easily from one activity to the next without having to change clothes, is well-suited to the California climate, culture, and consumer," said brand director Nadia Gillies.

Duer can now be found in 27 different countries and in 700 retail locations. Keep checking the brand's website and Instagram for updates on when you can expect to visit them in person.
