Founded in Florence, Italy in 1921, the brand has grown into a global wonder and is now available internationally as part of the high-end Kering group, opening its latest boutique within Glendale's popular shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, The Americana at Brand.
Just past the steel, stone, and glass exterior of the new boutique, customers are enveloped in a relaxed space that feels welcoming, yet intrinsically luxe. An intentional use of negative space allows for a manageable shopping experience, while intricate design details like the three-dimensional painted wood floors add intrigue and interest. Vintage-inspired display units, adorned with ornate moldings, inlaid mirrors, accent lighting, and powder blue backdrops, flank the walls of the store; beautifully showcasing Gucci's wide collection of men's and women's shoes, handbags, luggage, small leather goods, jewelry, watches, and eyewear.
Key pieces available across the 6,000 square foot space include Gucci's Blondie line of handbags and belt bags that harken back to the brand's 1970s designs, ranging in price from the Gucci Blondie belt bag ($1,650) to the Gucci Blondie crocodile belt bag ($22,000). Having debuted in May of 2022, in Puglia, Italy, Gucci's Cosmogonie collection is also available for perusal, featuring a myriad of looks straight off the runway, like men's anaconda leather-tipped loafers ($1,650), and statement pieces like the collections' metallic interlocking "G" choker ($4,200).
To contrast with the geometric patterns dispersed throughout the boutique, plush fabrics adorn the fitting rooms and casual seating, while vintage oriental rugs are layered on top of one another to generate a one-of-a-kind impression. Overall, the mix of hard lines, soft surfaces, and upscale materials across all facets, allows for a sumptuous shopping experience that feels personal to Gucci.
This new outpost marks the newest location for the brand, which already holds several stand-alone boutiques across Southern California, including on Beverly Hill's iconic Rodeo Drive, in Orange County's South Coast Plaza, in The Gardens on El Paseo in Palm Desert, in Fashion Valley in San Diego, and in the Westfield Topanga mall.
