Micheaux Film Festival (Culver City & DTLA): Micheaux Film Festival, honoring the legendary Oscar Micheaux and celebrating diverse storytelling, is returning to Los Angeles. This year's theme for the 5th annual event is Outliers – inspired by the seminal book by Malcolm Gladwell – celebrating individuals that defy odds in the face of adversity. West Edge's Mural Fest (DTLA): West Edge is hosting their first-ever Mural Fest. West Edge will offer a variety of activities on The Plaza including face painting, henna, and live music. Featured muralists include Aaron Martin, Anna Charney, and more.

X Games California (Ventura): X Games California takes over Ventura County Fairgrounds for three-days of heart-pounding action as the world's best skateboard, BMX, and Moto X superstars throw down their best tricks and compete for X Games gold. Expect appearances from Tony Hawk, Sky Brown, and more elite competitors. HollyRod Foundation's DesignCare Gala (Private Location): HollyRod will be honoring Naomi Campbell with the inaugural Jacqueline Avant HollyRod Humanitarian Award this year at their annual DesignCare Gala. The event will additionally honor Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe with the Muhammad Ali Trailblazer Award. The gala celebrates 25 years of advocacy and support for the Autism and Parkinson's communities. The gala will also feature sounds from special guest D-Nice along with the fashion of renowned designer Sergio Hudson and will once again be co-hosted by the nonprofit's founders, Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete.
