Roberto Benavidez: Bosch Beasts (Mid City): Perrotin Los Angeles presents Bosch Beasts, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based sculptor Roberto Benavidez, running Friday, Sept. 12 through Saturday, Oct. 18. Inspired by the surreal imagery of Hieronymus Bosch, Benavidez transforms traditional piñatas into hybrid, fantastical creatures that explore identity, race, and sexuality through color, form, and meticulous craftsmanship. Each sculpture combines papier-mâché, Bristol board, and wire to create life-size, tactile works that fuse playfulness with profound cultural and historical resonance. This is Benavidez's first solo gallery exhibition in L.A. and features new works alongside piñatas dating back to 2014.
