HBO is stretching Halloween a bit further to celebrate Rachel Sennott's new series, I Love LA. The comedy is taking over a handful of Silver Lake spots with exclusive merch giveaways, special menu items, and more.
Today through Sunday, Nov. 2, Angelenos who whisper "sink or swim" after purchasing select show-inspired menu items can score limited-edition swag while supplies last. The activation is taking place across L.A. at Canyon Coffee (get the flash brew), Capri Club (ask for the LA or Nowhere cocktail), Courage Bagels (order the I Lox LA), LaSorted's (Spicy & Unique Wings at the Silver Lake location only), and Lowboy (I Love LA martini). The eateries will also feature custom signage and other touches that nod to the HBO original series; the network notes that the activations are "a love letter to the city's food culture."
Sennott created, executive-produced, and stars in I Love LA, a quirky comedy about "a codependent, ambitious friend group navigating life and love in Los Angeles." The 30-year-old Bottoms star recently told The Hollywood Reporter that she envisioned the show as "an Entourage for internet girls," and that it's "the first [production] to shoot in Erewhon… no one has shot [there] before, brag."
The HBO original series also stars Josh Hutcherson, Jordan Firstman, True Whitaker, and Odessa A'zion, and guest stars Leighton Meester, Elijah Wood, Moses Ingram and others (and the Silver Lake Reservoir, if you're counting L.A. landmarks.)
I Love LA premieres on cable on HBO on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT and streams on HBO Max (also available through Prime Video). The first season spans eight episodes, each released weekly until the finale on Dec. 21. Those without an HBO Max subscription can watch HBO live online through DirecTV, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV and other TV streaming services.
