Tiffany & Co. Adds a Michelin-Starred Finish to Its Revamped South Coast Plaza Flagship

Jewelry-loving foodies can officially enjoy breakfast at Tiffany's.

Tiffany & Co. has opened its first Blue Box Café in California at South Coast Plaza, marking a delicious finishing touch to its recently revamped flagship. Shoppers can now order up California-meets-French fare by Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud and indulge in the Breakfast at Tiffany's morning menu ($72) that features fresh juice, fruits, eggs with caviar, pastries and a berry parfait; or the afternoon Tea at Tiffany's ($98) that boasts scones, sandwiches, sweets and more alongside a selection of teas and the option to add champagne (from Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot or Ruiniart, natch).

The restaurant also serves up caviar-topped spaghettini, Saumon aux Épices, pan-seared chicken with mushrooms, Soufflé Glacé aux Framboises and other decadent dishes whipped up using locally-sourced ingredients. Think pastries and bread made of organic flour from Petaluma County, organic eggs from San Diego, seasonal fruits grown in Corona Del Mar, milk from Sonoma and apricots grown in the San Joaquin Valley, to name just a few.

The restaurant takes walk-ins at the bar and dining room, and reservations are also available via Resy.

"Blue Box Café celebrates the pleasure of coming together over beautiful food in a refined setting," Boulud says in a release. "At South Coast Plaza, we are excited to preserve the distinctive charm and elegance guests know from New York while creating a menu that reflects the freshness, seasonality, and vibrant culinary spirit of California."

Boulud is also the founder of the Dinex Group, which is behind Tiffany & Co.'s Blue Box Cafe at its Fifth Avenue flagship in NYC alongside the chef's namesake restaurants in Palm Beach, Miami, the Bahamas, Toronto, Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong and elsewhere around the world.

Tiffany & Co. in June reopened its South Coast Plaza flagship and relocated to a 15,000-square-foot space between Burberry and Gucci. Designed by Peter Marino (who also renovated the jewelry maison's New York flagship) the store boasts interiors inspired by the California coast, such as ocean colorways that nod to Tiffany's signature hue, custom lighting by Hugh Dutton and digital projections of seaside scenes of the Pacific coast by French-Israeli filmmaker and artist Oyoram.

The stunning space showcases Tiffany's iconic collections, including Bird on a Rock, Knot, Hardwear, Lock, T and Sixteen Stone. The store also doubles as a high-end art gallery that pays homage to Tiffany & Co.'s history and craftsmanship through pieces by Damien Hirst, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Vik Muniz. Guests can also explore Tiffany's High Jewelry and other one-of-a-kind creations in the Jean Schlumberger gallery, while private salons allow clients to enjoy one-on-one appointments.

Other Golden State-informed design highlights throughout the store include morganite from Mesa Grande (a generous loan from a private collector) and archival pieces featuring kunzite, a gem named after Tiffany & Co. vice president and chief gemologist Dr. George Frederick Kunz. (The stone expert also discovered morganite on Madagascar in 1910.)

Tiffany & Co. most recently unveiled a new Elsa Peretti collection of sculptural accouterments ($270-$98,000).
