After unveiling its latest fitness innovations earlier this year at CES, Speediance on Friday revealed the next generation of its smart home gym gear and AI-powered ecosystem of personalized workout and wellness programs.
The China-based company took over the Andaz West Hollywood to reveal the professional-grade Gym Monster Ultra machine that boasts up to 260 pounds of resistance and 33 cable positions; the Gym Monster 3 with Pilates-inspired training and precise weight control; the new screen-free tracking Strap; and AI model enhancements that bring even more personalized insights to workouts, nutrition and recovery. The launch event also showcased the Gym Nano, a portable cable trainer with up to 220 pounds of digital weight resistance that has scored the seal of approval by former Lakers head athletic trainer Marco Nuñez, who now works with private clients ranging from NBA and NFL players to athletes as young as 11 years old.
Now the owner of Evolve Athletic Performance & Rehab, Nuñez explained that the Gym Nano securely tracks workout activity, allowing him to make data-driven decisions for individual athletes, such as whether they're ready to return to the game after an injury. "The data [helps] to justify the program that we've implemented, whether it's a strength conditioning or rehab program for the athlete that's working and progressing. Maybe the athlete is regressing, and there's nothing wrong with that. We just have to modify and change our programming," and Speediance's equipment gives them a "valid, objective assessment tool."

"One of the biggest obstacles with the Lakers was whenever we traveled," added the L.A.-based trainer. "When we're at our facility, we can train and test the athlete, but what happens when we go on the road? Oftentimes, we would go on the road for about two to three weeks, and we cannot take the big gym. The thing that I love about the Gym Nano is that it's very portable. We can do the testing at home, take it with us, and then continue the progression of testing."
Speediance's new AI upgrades bring even more connectivity and personalization to its fitness and wellness ecosystem. Its multi-layered Aevis system features three AI-powered "experts" that work together to offer comprehensive and tailored guidance on movement, nutrition, sleep, injury prevention and short- and long-term health goals. The software is available through the brand's iOS app and connects seamlessly with Speediance's smart equipment, allowing users to measure their reps in real-time and receive immediate feedback on posture and speed.

"Data and plans still leave people with substantial work: interpreting changes, deciding whether they matter, organizing the next step and checking whether it helped," Speediance AI manager Xiaoya Lin explained at the event. "Aevis is designed to maintain that understanding over time. It can bring training and health information together, investigate possible causes, use tools to research or analyze data, prepare an adjustment plan and continue following the goal after the conversation ends. Early users have used Aevis while preparing for Hyrox and when making decisions in outdoor and high-altitude environments. The intended experience is that a person's goal is being continuously followed and translated into practical daily action."
Speediance was founded in 2020 with the goal of bringing innovative workout tech to peoples' homes. The company debuted its flagship Gym Monster all-in-one strength training system in 2021 after a successful Kickstarter campaign and released the Gym Master Pro series in 2023. Former Manx professional cyclist Sir Mark Cavendish recently joined the company as a global brand ambassador.
In addition to the Gym Monster series, the Gym Nano and the newly-released Speediance Strap, the company also offers the VeloNix indoor cycling bike and the Wellness+ 24/7 AI training coach.
