Now that LA is enjoying prime picnic weather again, perhaps it's time to start planning your next park and dine sesh. If gourmet sandwiches, craft beer, and coffee are must-haves on your menu, consider making a brunch pick-up stop at Scout, a charming fast-casual food shop and general store that recently arrived in Silver Lake.

Spanning just 240 square feet, the stylish space houses a to-go eatery and boutique, which stocks home decor, edible goods, and much more. Visitors can pick up a range of dinner party-ready merch and gifts, like SQIRL jams, vinyl records from local bands, leather goods and stationery from Shinola, apothecary products from Aesop, wooden centerpieces by Boyce Studio, candles from Le Labo, and charcuterie boards and more by Fort Standard.

The mouthwatering menu serves up breakfast, sandwiches, toasts salads, and smoothies; standouts include the Italian Breakfast (soft egg, pesto, marinated tomato, arugula, and parmesan on sourdough toast), the obligatory Avocado Toast (topped with watermelon radish, furikake, chives, and aleppo pepper), the Chocolate Toast (Nutella, bananas, choco crunchies, honey, and bee pollen), the Pumpkin Seed Granola Bowl, and the Grinder Sandwich, to name just a few.

There are also sweets by renowned pastry chef Roxana Jullapat alongside cold brews, cappuccinos, espressos, and more made with Portland-based Heart Coffee (which was created by an Intelligentsia alumn), plus teas and grab-and-go bottled sips like Better Booch kombucha, cold-pressed juices by Clover, coconut water, and more.

In addition, expect a selection of local craft beers from Boomtown Brewery, Eagle Rock Brewery, Fort Point Beer Company, and Mumfording Brewing Company; as far as vino, find biodynamic regional wines from Donkey and Goat, Koehnen Winery, Swick Wines, and Scholium Project. Scout even offers a build-your-own beer or wine pack, available in 4 or 6 cans or bottles.

Take a peek inside the tiny but mighty shop (which was designed and built by Beau Laughlin and features landscaping by Bradley Duncan; fashionable illustrator Carly Kuhn a.k.a. @thecartorialist dreamed up the logo and icons) and scroll through the gallery above, then see below for the full hours and address.

Scout is open daily from 7am to 7pm.
