Hawkins New York's First West Coast Shop at ROW DTLA Is a Modern Home Decor Mecca

When there's a stylish alternative for everything from bedding to dishes, there's truly no excuse to live in a boring house these days. That's the story behind Hawkins New York, the cool home and lifestyle label that caters to Scandinavian-inspired design enthusiasts who don't want to come to an all-IKEA-everything abode. After a bit of a delay (the shop was originally expected to open in January), the brand officially debuted its first West Coast outpost last month — fittingly to coincide with the LA Design Festival — at ROW DTLA.

At 4,000 square feet, the bright and airy boutique is HNY's largest location and offers the five-year-old brand's stylish homewares, tabletop accessories, textiles, decor, and more alongside goods from like-minded brands to accompany their merch. Expect to find eye-pleasing items for every room, including Hawkins' perfectly-imperfect dinnerware, marble serving bowls and cutting boards, and rose gold flatware for the dining room; wood and glass storage containers for the pantry; woven wicker cube poufs for the living room; and linen bedding in a variety of chic shades; to name just a few.

There's also lighting by Menu, concrete and wood toilet accessories by Iris Hantverk, hair and body products by Grown Alchemist, fragrances by DS + Durga, rugs designed in collaboration with Alyson Fox, and more. The LA shop also exclusively stocks Ton furnishings, South African ceramics brand WonkiWare, and furniture by Gregor Jenkins (who also hails from South Africa).

For now, Hawkins New York tells us that while there are no plans in the near future to open other stores in California, "either San Francisco or [LA's] Westside" are both ideal spots for additional outposts.
