There's Still Time to Catch Beyond The Streets Before It Packs Up This Month

You've got until August 26 to check it out.

This weekend's temps are expected to keep cool(ish) under 90, which means it might be an opportune time to crawl out of that air-conditioned abode and enjoy the cultural fruits of our city. If that's the case, allow us to remind you that Beyond The Streets recently announced that it's extending its stay in Downtown through Sunday, August 26. If you somehow haven't yet experienced FOMO after scrolling through your social media feeds, here's a quick refresher. (We know you've seen your pals' snaps with OG SLICK's oversized LA hands and DABSMYLA's floral walls, to name a few.) Holding court in Chinatown, the 40,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor street art exhibit was curated by graffiti historian Roger Gastman and houses both familiar and never-before-seen works from over 100 artists hailing from LA and around the globe, including Shepard Fairey, Guerrilla Girls, Jenny Holzer, Takashi Murakami, Mark Mothersbaugh, Retna, Faile, Invader, Mister Cartoon, and so many others. The follow-up to MOCA's Art In The Streets isn't just a massive collection of 'grammable murals: The showcase also includes photography, paintings, sculptures, and installations and highlights some of the most innovative creators in contemporary art. There's also a full slate of summer events, like Jason Revok's signing this Saturday, a Thrashin' screening next Thursday, and more. Free this weekend? Admission is timed and tickets are $25 for ages 3 and up; buy them online here. Oh, and we know you'll be cool and tag the artists in your #content, right?
