West Elm's Midcentury Modern-Inspired Home Furnishings & More Land at Burbank Empire Center

Burbank's beloved big-box shopping center has scored an interior decor upgrade. Back in December, West Elm opened its sixth L.A. store at the Empire Center — and now, we're taking a peek inside the stylish home furnishings haven. It follows the Brooklyn-born retailer's openings in Downtown and Santa Monica two years ago, and marks the brand's 16th store in California.

The store offers West Elm's full line of contemporary and midcentury modern-inspired home furnishings, bedding, rugs, textiles, decor, kitchenware, and more. Also on offer is the retailer's just-launched hemp bedding collection ($44 to $665; also available at West Elm's other L.A. locations), which is made from sustainable fair-trade hemp and cotton fabric. There's also a California Local corner that will carry goods from a rotating selection of about 15 local makers and artisans, including socially-responsible items curated by Balthazar & Rose, stationery from Dandelion Paper Co, handmade home goods made of natural materials by Melanie Abrantes, vintage-inspired pennants and patches by Miriam Dema, macrame art and decor by Esmé Design, jewelry by Open Heart Warrior, and many others.

Just like at the rest of West Elm's stores, shoppers can book free design consultations with the retailer's Design Crew, who'll guide clients with fabric and paint recommendations, interior inspiration, and more. The shop will also host a regular schedule of free workshops, pop-ups, and other events.
