All Angelenos Can Keep Calm Together with Headspace's Free Meditations for the Rest of 2020

The Santa Monica-based app and the L.A. County Department of Health are joining forces.

In keeping with the apparent #WellnessWednesday theme of the day, here's the latest way that our fair city helping all Angelenos take their stir-crazy minds off all of the pandemic things. Following in the footsteps of New York and Michigan, the Los Angeles County Department of Health has teamed with Santa Monica-based Headspace to offer new subscribers free access to the meditation app for the rest of the year. The only catch? You need to be physically located in and around the City of Angels.

Here's how it works: Head over to the mindful company's website to sign up, then make sure to give your browser location access. Once you're in, you'll have access to Headspace's full library of meditations, including audio guides on reducing stress, managing anxiety, and snoozing sooner. There are even storytelling "sleepcasts" to help your mind rest and tracks to listen as you stroll outside (from a six-foot distance from others, of course).

In need of social time without leaving the house? You can also join guided group meditations and maintain peace of mind knowing that your fellow residents are on the same calm and collected wavelength. (We'll all need it after that essential grocery store run.)

Ready to relax? Get more details and sign up for Headspace for free online here, then download the app for iOS on the App Store or for Android on Google Play.
