Sad news for Melrose Place's frequent shoppers. Following a slew of mid-pandemic shutterings last year, the stylish stretch has also lost two more beloved boutiques: Cult-favorite label Mansur Gavriel and French fragrance house The Harmonist.
Both stores packed up quietly sometime within the last few months, and they marked each brand's Los Angeles flagships. Paris-bred perfumery The Harmonist first arrived in 2016, and New York-based Mansur Gavriel made its West Coast debut in 2018.
The minimalist-chic accessories and womenswear label added chic French patisserie and eatery Ladurée to its dining menu the following year. (Ladurée closed all of its locations worldwide last year, including its Beverly Hills and The Grove restaurants.)
Sadly, the stores are among the wave of retail closures due to COVID-19. In 2020, Melrose Place welcomed Rothy's' first L.A. shoe shop, but said goodbye to Zero + Maria Cornejo, Glossier, Rebag, Nine Zero One, and Fig & Olive.
New York-based designer Maria Cornejo's vacant space has been leased, while the other storefronts are still up for grabs; stay tuned for more details.
