So what if Halloween is over? Netflix is keeping the spooky season alive in Los Angeles with its Stranger Things store, which is bringing the 1980s by way of the Upside-Down to the Americana at Brand starting this Saturday, Nov. 6 (which just happens to be Stranger Things Day).
Running through the end of the year, the immersive shop offers no shortage of 'grammable scenes fit for your TV-themed holiday cards. In addition to stocking exclusive show memorabilia and giftables for the Stranger Things superfans on your list, the space will house the shoppable Starcourt Mall, the mysterious Russian Lab (where you just might find the Rift), a retro game-filled Palace Arcade, Hawkins Middle School's Snowball Dance, Joyce Byer's home, and other locales pulled from the small screen.
As far as merch, there'll be exclusive pieces including a vinyl Elegorgon figurine (a collaboration between iam8bit and Netflix), specially packaged General Mills' Stranger Things cereal, collectible Bandai action figures, customizable clothing and other goodies. While you explore the store, keep your eyes peeled for familiar faces, like Russian guards, Scoops Ahoy employees and more Hawkins characters.
The three-month pop-up comes on the heels of Netflix thriller's social distancing-friendly Drive Into Experience at Row DTLA, and follows pre-pandemic L.A. takeovers at the Santa Monica Pier (which was transformed into a Fun Fair) and Burbank's Baskin-Robbins (which got a Scoops Ahoy makeover).
Walk-ins are welcome, but a reservation is your best bet to guarantee a visit to the Upside-Down. Tickets are free and include a complimentary gift, and attendees are required to wear face masks in accordance with L.A. County's COVID-19 guidelines. Book your RSVP here.
