Now that the holiday shopping marathon has ended (next up: V-Day?), we can finally put all of that sprinting toward intentional sweat sessions. If you're a tech-savvy fitness buff who's resolving to swap screen time with more work out time, then you're bound to find a smart solution at Westfield Century City, where futuristic fitness brands Mirror and Tonal have opened their first brick-and-mortar showrooms in Southern California.

Open on level one as of mid-November, New York-based Mirror has arrived with its interactive home gym created by Harvard-educated former ballerina Brynn Putnam. Reese Witherspoon, Ellen DeGeneres, and Alicia Keys are among fans of Mirror's smart full-length LCD screen ($1,495), which requires only two feet of wall space and allows users to stream workouts on-demand or join a real-time class and get live feedback from pro trainers. There's something for everyone, from ballet and boot camp to boxing, yoga, and even dance cardio from celeb-beloved Tracy Anderson — and yes, it acts as a normal reflective surface when it's off.

You can also sync Mirror with your own Bluetooth fitness device (or the brand's own $50 accessory) for heart rate monitoring, track your real-time and long-term stats, and even compete against yourself. Memberships are $39 per month (minimum one-year subscription) and include access for up to six family members. (Pssst, there's still time to save $467 if you use the promo code NEWYEAR20 by Jan. 6.)

The company recently nabbed $34 million in funding, including from Lululemon — so expect some stylish collaborations soon. The Westfield space marks its third location; Mirror also has a NYC flagship and a Bay Area showroom.

Up on Westfield Century City's level two, San Francisco-based Tonal's first L.A. outpost opened in late October of 2019. The sleek and modern space showcases its high-tech home fitness system ($2,995) that comes packed with state-of-the-art software and hardware, digital weight lifting equipment for upper and lower body workouts, virtual trainers, and performance tracking.

The all-in-one sweat station uses an "electromagnetic resistance engine powered by advanced math" to create weight resistance of up to 200 pounds, and users can also set the power, range of motion, and more preferences with the swipe or click of a button. Your futuristic gym buddy can also automatically your workout intensity if it senses that you're pushing yourself a bit too hard. Memberships are $49 per month (minimum one-year commitment) and include unlimited household access to on-demand workouts, coaches, advanced weight features, and more.

Tonal is also offering a new year promo: You'll earn $250 back when you (or your fam) use your Tonal equipment to complete 12 workouts in 30 days. You can also book an in-person demo online if you'd prefer to test-sweat before you buy.
